The Latin American Dream is a great guide to helping start and succeed in your career. A vital part of that process is job interviews—it’s usually the last step in applying for a job and often the most important one. This interview will help the employer determine if you are right for the position, so it’s essential to take the interview seriously and prepare for it. Try these tips for your next interview:

-Practice answering questions with a friend before the actual interview. Have them ask different questions each time to practice thinking on your feet. Work on your communication skills, such as speaking clearly and calmly and maintaining eye contact with your interviewer.
-Research the company you are applying to work for. Know the name of your interviewer and his or her position in the company. Find out if the company has an overall mission statement, and try to relate your answers to it.
-Show the interviewer that you want to be there. Dress neatly and appropriately for the type of position you are applying for. Bring a notepad and pen for taking notes. It’s also very important to be on time. If necessary, drive to the location before the interview so you know exactly how to get there. Bring an few extra copies of your resume just in case.
-After the interview is over, follow-up with a thank you note. This will keep your name in the mind of the interviewer and remind him or her of your interest in the position
